Rajput 25th Anniversary Celebration

In 2005 Minoti Rajput, founder and president of Secure Planning Strategies, and a nationally recognized CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™, celebrated 25 years of work as a financial planner.

When she began, there were few women in the highly competitive field. Today, she has a thriving practice that successfully balances a concentration on both wealth preservation/financial planning for affluent professionals, business owners and retirees, as well as an equal dedication to assisting the families of special needs children.

To mark the celebration of 25 years of work, the Indian-born Rajput chose to honor her anniversary and her clients by donating $25,000. She invited charities across Metro Detroit to apply for matching grants, ranging in size from $1000 to $5000. “I wanted to help smaller, perhaps unknown or forgotten groups move into the light. There are hundreds of smaller charities and organizations doing remarkable work that is often unrecognized. My thought was not only to share my blessings and ‘multiply the good’ by making this a matching grant fund-raiser. It was my hope that these gifts would encourage great things,” states Ms. Rajput.

Twelve charities were chosen through the efforts of the matching grant events, Minoti Rajput’s initial gift of $25,000 grew to more than $65,000. The grant awards were made at a banquet held in August 2005. The grant recipients are listed below.

Now, Ms. Rajput is ready to help other organizations do the same. “The response from clients and the community has been great. I think this kind of project could be a successful for other businesses and individuals, as well. Knowing that your gift has an ongoing ripple effect of service to people in need and the community is tremendously rewarding. I am pleased to share what I learned from this experience with anyone who wishes to do the same.”

Heartfelt Thanks To Our Grant Committee:

I feel fortunate that you were able to share this experience with me. This event could not have happened without you. You gave generously of your time and humanity as you reviewed and evaluated each grant application. You struggled, as I did, with the difficult decisions that had to be made.

Thanks to your efforts our grant program has “multiplied the good” and more than doubled the size of the gifts that were given. You have shown, by your example, the good that can be done in this world.

This grant celebration has become as much your gift as it is mine.
