SPS Connection
“It has always been my wish to do the unexpected, those things that present the greatest challenge. I find this fulfillment in my work.”
In 1989, Minoti Rajput met three different families that had family members with disability or a special needs child. She began searching for ways to help these families plan for the future, but she had no point of reference or resource to assist them. Minoti found herself thinking of her own niece, who is autistic, and realized she had found the “something out of the ordinary” she had been missing in her professional life.
Today, Minoti Rajput is a nationally respected expert in this demanding field, devoting a large part of her highly respected financial planning practice to Special Needs Planning. Ms. Rajput is a sought-after public speaker and the noted co-author of an online reference book for professionals working as financial advisers for families published by Commerce Clearing House Publications.

Financial security and independence can seem like impossible dreams for families facing the challenges of planning for a dependent child or adult with special needs. Providing an acceptable quality of life for dependent loved ones is a process that requires a thorough knowledge of various government programs and benefits, estate planning and investment planning rules, as well as a familiarity with various disabilities.
As one of the first firms in Michigan to recognize the importance of this planning, SPS has spent nearly two decades assisting more than 700 families nationwide. We are very proud of our ability to find the right solutions to these complex issues, irrespective of the parent’s net worth. SPS is connected with various advocacy organizations and is part of a network of professionals specializing in this area.
